Business Wales provides a first class business support service to Welsh SMEs on behalf of the Welsh Government, funded by the European Regional Development Fund. From January 2016 this service will be delivered by Growth Partnership Wales, a partnership of Business in Focus, Antur Teifi and Peninsula Enterprise. Superfast Business Wales is a new service element of Business Wales, commencing in January 2016. It will support businesses across Wales to understand, adopt and exploit the benefits of Superfast Broadband. Peninsula Enterprise is looking for support from a pool of experienced freelance Journalists/copywriter professionals or agencies to create written content and/or case studies that will highlight the real business benefits of utilising superfast broadband and the technologies it enables. Visit http://business.wales.gov.uk/superfastbusinesswales/ for examples of the type of content produced to date. Case study work will focus entirely on businesses based in Wales. We would require a dedicated individual to carry out the role autonomously; however there will be a full briefing process prior to starting the project. Individuals with contacts into the Welsh SME market place in order to provide case study suggestions and leads would be at an advantage. The case studies are being created on behalf of Welsh Government and will be shared on the Superfast Business Wales website and as such will require the design to adhere to strict branding guidelines. Deliverables include up to 220 written case studies over 5 years where possible including photography commissioned or provided by the company. Once signed off, case studies will need to be provided in English and in Welsh and fit to a predetermined template. Copy writing will include the production and updating of content to inform and inspire businesses about the benefits of superfast broadband. The work required will be to write business facing informative and factual copy for use in a range of publications including but not limited to Business Guides, blogs, top tips, how to guides and factsheets. Essential skills will include a journalistic approach to uncovering information; ability to write factually and informatively for the SME business market across a range of sectors; speak informatively about IT and wide ranging technology use in business and understand the business benefits of faster broadband connectivity. Desired skills include the ability to translate into Welsh language; proven record in writing business guides or similar and photography skills. We expect to award contracts to a group of organisations to cover content and case study work for the five year duration of the Superfast Business Wales service. Activity will be agreed for individual work packages. Interested organisations will be required to complete an application form which will provide more detail on our requirements and further information regarding the process.
